Privacy
I collect as little as a website can and still have a contact form.
What I collect. If you write to me through the form, I receive what you type into it: your name, your email address and your message. Nothing else is collected from the form.
Visitor counts. I use Umami to see whether anyone reads this site, on the basis of my legitimate interest in knowing that. No cookies, so no banner. It glances at your IP to work out a country and a one-day anonymous visitor hash, then discards it. Nothing here can be traced back to you.
Why. To read what you wrote and reply to it. That is all your message is for, and the legal basis is the plain one: you asked me something and I would like to answer. If we go on to work together, the conversation becomes part of that engagement and is kept with it.
Where it goes. The form hands your message to Mailgun (EU region), which delivers it to my mailbox, and nowhere else. I do not pass your details to anyone, sell them, or add you to a list. There is no newsletter.
How long. For as long as the conversation is alive, and a reasonable while after, in case it picks up again. If it clearly ended, I delete it. If you would like it gone sooner, say so and it is.
Your rights. You can ask me what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to my keeping it at all. Write to t@motley.dev and I will sort it out myself, promptly and without a form. If you feel I have handled your data badly, you may also complain to the Hungarian data protection authority (NAIH, naih.hu), though I would rather you told me first.
Changes. If any of this changes, this page changes with it. The date below tells you when it last did.
